Noémi Tóth

I am a Child and Adolescent Clinical and Mental Health Psychologist. I am currently in the supervised stage of the Hungarian Family Therapy Association's family therapist training programme. I have also completed training in child and adolescent schema therapy and the Anna Freud Centre's introductory MBT-A training programme.

The psychodynamic approach is closest to my way of thinking, which I combine with a systemic perspective, mentalization-based methods and a neuroaffirmative approach. I regard understanding and connection as the foundations of our work together. I believe it is important to find the way in which children, young people and their families can genuinely be reached. I believe there is a route to everyone – a way through which they can express themselves willingly, reveal their inner world and connect both with others and with themselves. In therapy, we look for this route together. Alongside verbal communication, play, creative work and other non-verbal methods can help us move closer to experiences and feelings that are difficult to put into words.

I feel particularly connected to young people for whom the challenges of adolescence, relationship experiences and neurodevelopmental characteristics reinforce one another and make everyday life especially demanding.

I regard parents as important participants and allies in the therapeutic process. In our shared reflection, we aim to help family members turn towards themselves and one another with curiosity, understand each other's experiences and perspectives more clearly, and thereby connect with greater openness and a stronger sense of safety.

At MURMO, I work with children and young people in individual therapy, family therapy and psychodiagnostic assessment. During the spring and summer periods, I also take part in leading and delivering our Intensive therapy weeks.
