Zita Schwanner

I am a counseling psychologist specializing in crisis intervention, as well as a certified psychologist and a teacher of Hungarian and English. I completed my university studies at Eötvös Loránd University and Janus Pannonius University, and gained international experience in the English department at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I possess extensive method-specific qualifications: I am a recognized EMDR therapist, family therapist, and symbol therapist, and I also graduated as an autogenic training practitioner, as well as a child relaxation and pregnancy relaxation specialist. I continuously update my professional knowledge; thus, in recent years, I have also participated in Ego State, Internal Family Systems (IFS), TFP (Transference-Focused Psychotherapy), and TFP-A (Transference-Focused Psychotherapy for Adolescents) trainings.

Although I prepared to work with adults during my studies, life has always guided me close to children. I have worked in children's homes, on an expert committee assessing learning capabilities, and as a permanent author for a parenting magazine. With this diverse experience behind me, I was able to join Murmo as a co-founder to provide complex support to the children who turn to us. As a family therapist, I see and consider it crucial to involve the family system and the parents in supporting children. I believe that healing and optimal functioning can only be achieved sustainably through systemic changes.

I believe that no one should or

must live unhappily, compromising with suffering; help is available, one simply needs to

reach out for it. In my therapeutic case management, I am guided by a systemic and integrative approach that combines deep-psychological symbol therapy, trauma-informed EMDR and Ego State techniques, as well as relaxation methods. Providing psychological support to children facing difficult life circumstances, crisis intervention, and rehabilitation-oriented and animal-assisted therapeutic work are of paramount importance to me in facilitating the processing of deep internal blocks and traumas. The holding community of the Murmo team, thinking together, and intensive collaborative work are extremely important to me—they provide safety and strength, which I carry with me into the sessions.

At Murmo, I am currently available to clients in a wide variety of modalities: I welcome individuals turning to me for family therapy, couple therapy, individual EMDR therapy, symbol therapy, psychological counseling, and autogenic training.

As a co-founder of MURMO, I have been dedicatedly leading the organization's volunteer team for 11 years within the framework of various pro bono projects. In this role, I continuously participate in the professional education and practical training of young professionals, bringing them closer to the reality of the psychological profession while guiding and supporting their development as a mentor. Supporting families is also a matter close to my heart, which I realize through pro bono events and counseling organized for parents.
