A complex art therapy group for children aged 6–8 with neurodevelopmental differences (ASD, ADHD), including associated challenges in emotion regulation, impulse control, sensory processing and school adjustment. During the transition from preschool to school, the group focuses on supporting emotional expression, social safety and self-regulation.
Detailed professional description
The Kismacska group is a small-group therapeutic session for young schoolchildren that integrates visual art, music and play therapy tools.
Age group: young schoolchildren aged 6–8
Focus: impulse-control difficulties, anxiety, social inhibition, aggressive behaviour, family crisis, trauma, eating and sleeping difficulties.
Methodology: a combination of visual art, music and play therapy elements. Using stories, imagination, movement, musical improvisation and the tools of complex art therapy, we support emotional processing,
self-expression and the development of social and communication skills.
Format:
- A therapeutic group running weekly throughout the school year
- 50-minute themed sessions tailored to the children’s age-related and emotional needs
- Slow-open group – min. 5, max. 8 participants
- Parent consultations: 5 sessions per school year
- Regular attendance and commitment to the necessary assessments are essential for the group to work effectively
