A neurologic music therapy group for primary-school children aged 8–11 with neurodevelopmental characteristics, primarily ADHD. By integrating rhythm, thinking and movement, the group supports attention, executive functions, working memory, cognitive flexibility and emotion regulation required for successful school and social adjustment, while strengthening self-regulation, intrinsic motivation, self-awareness and adaptive coping strategies.

Detailed professional description

The Kidoboló group is a small-group therapeutic programme based on neurologic music therapy methodology
for children aged 8–11 with ADHD or ADD.

Age group: children aged 8–11

Focus: ADHD, ADD, executive function difficulties, anxiety, emotional control
problems, adjustment difficulties.

Methodology: integrated use of neurologic music therapy and expressive and mentalisation-focused
elements. Through group drumming and creative music games, we support the development of concentration,
coordination and self-control, as well as emotion regulation and
the strengthening of relationships between group members.

Format:

  • A therapeutic group meeting weekly throughout the school year
  • 50-minute themed sessions tailored to the children’s individual and group needs
  • Slow-open group – min. 3, max. 6 participants
  • Parent consultations: 5 sessions per school year
  • Regular attendance and willingness to undergo any recommended further assessments are required
