MURMO turned ten years old, and the day was exactly what a birthday should be: warm, welcoming, intimate, and filled with love.<\/p>\n<p>From 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., both MURMO and the \u00c1tkel\u0151 Gallery opened their doors to visitors. Through ten different workshops \u2014 ranging from the canine-assisted therapeutic program \u201cVakkant\u00e1s,\u201d to experiential children\u2019s drama sessions, to a parent support group focusing on eating disorders \u2014 we offered insight into the way we work. Rather than presenting loud or performative demonstrations, we invited people into genuine encounters: to experience, to feel, to ask questions, and to spend time with us.<\/p>\n<p>Because this is the essence of MURMO. Over the past ten years, this is perhaps what we have learned most deeply: without personal connection, there can be no real encounter, and without encounter, there is no reason for us to be present. As expressed in the essay \u201cOne\u2019s Own Wings,\u201d healing is not a matter of technique \u2014 it is a matter of presence, acceptance, and safety.<\/p>\n<p>At 6 p.m., the exhibition presenting a decade of work by the Art\u00e9zi Art Therapy Workshop opened at the \u00c1tkel\u0151 Gallery. These were works created not out of pressure to perform, but from deep inner necessity. Much like an artesian well breaking through to the surface \u2014 \u201cunder great pressure, the water bursts upward like a fountain\u201d \u2014 unconscious contents emerge in the same way: crystal clear and authentically true to the self. We are deeply grateful for the words of Orvos-T\u00f3th No\u00e9mi, whose presence and opening remarks brought additional light and depth to the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday. To those who asked questions, created, listened, and shared their stories. To all those who have placed their trust in us over the past ten years \u2014 families, children, parents, colleagues, and supporters alike.<\/p>\n<p>Within our art therapy groups, the Lotilko program, and individual therapeutic work, our goal is not to raise artists, but to help people discover their own wings. As Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez wrote: \u201cI give a child wings, and then I teach them how to fly with their own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even after ten years, this remains our mission.
