{"id":4630,"date":"2026-04-14T13:22:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T11:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atetofedo.hu\/?post_type=mp-event&#038;p=4630"},"modified":"2026-10-08T10:04:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-08T08:04:10","slug":"socom-school-adjustment-support-group","status":"publish","type":"mp-event","link":"https:\/\/atetofedo.hu\/en\/csoportok\/socom-school-adjustment-support-group\/","title":{"rendered":"SOCOM &#8211; School Adjustment Support Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fridays, 15.30-16.15<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Social-Communication Skills Development for Primary School Children (Ages 6-11) with Autism<br>Spectrum Disorder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Group Aim<\/strong>:<br>To support the development of social and communication skills in order to help children build and<br>maintain relationships and integrate more successfully into school life and peer communities in a<br>safe, personal setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Skills to be developed<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recognising and expressing emotions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding social rules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining relationships, cooperation, and problem-solving<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-esteem, self-protection, and assertiveness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using verbal and non-verbal communication tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing mentalisation skills (understanding the thoughts and feelings of others)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Methods<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cognitive-behavioural elements (e.g. reinforcement, reward systems)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Autism-specific tools (e.g. visual supports, social stories)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social learning and modelling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Role play and situational practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creative, hands-on activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cooperative games<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation in the group requires an initial parent consultation.
